The movie is one that has a common international appeal as it tackles relationship of a girl and a boy. Director Ryan Arnold, though yet to be known, has teamed up with Hollywood Casting Assistant James Moore who is also the producer of LTD. The elements of the movie are quite generic. However, there are good circumstances and twists that make up for a remarkable movie and characters.
The movie starred Ryan Arnold (Jerry), Gina Holden (Sam), Brendan Penny (Pete) and Michael Karl Richards (Matt). Yes, the same Ryan Arnold is the director. Now, these loots are not especially new to one another. They have been through several films and short TV stints together. They are actually more in the umbrella of the same casting assistant, James Moore. Actually, these casting have come from various places, like Holden who is from Columbia and Penny a native of Canada.
They have been through Smallville, Kyle XY and various films. Some of them have been included in movies of international release, so these loots are not really new to acting. Some of the movies include Harper’s Island, Saw, X-men, Butterfly Effects, Final Destination 3 and even Aliens vs. Predator. Director Ryan Arnold, on the other hand, has also made a few more movies than this one.
Among the most impressive includes SkidLove. SkidLove also revolves around a girl – boy relationship. The movie is actually a brain child from head to toe by Ryan Arnold. However, LTD has made quite an impression because of the introverted loner who finally has a partner. This actually becomes quite a trend in Arnold’s movies, many hopes he would not fall on stereotypical couple movies. Still, there is a great movement in the story, plot, cinematography and twists that sets it apart.
LTD with its twists and turns have become quite a nightmare. When the introvert boy has became overly dependent with a girl up to the point of obsession. He also becomes more and more closed up with all his dealings. If a love story becomes sweeter by the minute, the movie is anti-romantic. Each of tem learns more and more about the quirks, the past and any other bits and pieces that instead of endearing them to one another, has some other effects.
There is also a mind boggling puzzle that falls from the movie’s structure. The plot is quite clear, however, the story is not presented in its best form. It can even go on saying that the movie is upside down. It actually challenges how conventional film making are. Still, experience is one factor that Ryan Arnold would need to work on.
The screenplay, also by Ryan Arnold, is also intriguing. There is a kind of movement that makes it quite a thriller while keeping audience in a thinking mode and torn on characters’ decisions. This coincides with cinematography works by Catherine Lutes. Lighting looks just as great, this is further given life by original music provided by Steve Nelson. A team assemble by James Moore has brought to life LTD at its best.
